This task is showing how to use Google Earth to make the GIS project in creating visual aids for students. In this assignment, we created 12 different push pins in the Google Earth to find the historical cities in America. Students will learn the importance of different historical places and how to find them on the Google Earth map by using the push pins. Also, students will use different kinds of sources to find information and pictures of these places, and add this into the GIS project. The attached GIS project topic is Historical Cities in America, and is used with the attached lesson plan. This GIS project is designed for 5-12 grade students. This is a subject of social studies related to NJ State Standard: 6.1 U.S. History: America in the World: All students will acquire the knowledge and skills to think analytically about how past and present interactions of people, cultures, and the environment shape the American heritage. Such knowledge and skills enable students to make informed decisions that reflect fundamental rights and core democratic values as productive citizens in local, national, and global communities.
